Who is Brittany?
I'm an educator, author, and former practicing attorney whose work sits at the intersection of legal education, mentorship, and professional development. My career has taken me through private practice, public service, teaching, publishing, and mentoring aspiring attorneys. Across each chapter, I've remained committed to one idea:
Success in law is not reserved for the most conventional path, the strongest test score, or the most polished résumé.
Many people call me the “real-life Elle Woods”. I wear that proudly.
Through my work, I've come to call this person the Gifted Lawyer—the aspiring or practicing attorney who is intelligent, intuitive, and multidimensional, but who has often been measured by metrics that miss their most powerful gifts.
The Gifted Lawyer is not the lawyer who fits the mold. The Gifted Lawyer is the lawyer who changes what the mold looks like.
My own path into law was anything but linear. Even with excellent grades and a deep belief in my potential, I completely choked on the LSAT the first time I took it. A former law school dean told me—"statistically speaking"—I would never make it past my first semester.
Years later, that same dean asked me to speak at graduation.
That experience shaped everything about how I understand resilience and what it takes to thrive in this profession. I learned to manage anxiety through preparation, leverage my strengths as an intuitive, right-brained thinker, and succeed without losing my individuality in a field that often rewards conformity. That education never came from a textbook.
It led me to write the Law School Success Series—four books that walk alongside the aspiring attorney from the moment they first consider law school through the earliest days of practice.
Together, they are the book I wish I'd had.
I am dedicated to elevating ambitious, multidimensional attorneys and aspiring lawyers who refuse to be confined to traditional expectations of what success in this profession looks like. My work is for those ready to write their own rules, embrace their personal power, and build a career and life galvanized with purpose.
If you're weighing whether law school is right for you, navigating the application process, surviving your first year, or standing at the threshold of early practice wondering whether someone who thinks and feels the way you do can truly thrive in this profession—these books were written for you.
I welcome opportunities to support this work through speaking engagements, panels, podcasts, and programs serving pre-law students, law students, and early-career attorneys.
